Restoration

As a business, we take our responsibilities towards stewardship of our land, our operations, and our community very seriously. It is proposed to return the majority of the Laigh Plewland area back to grazing land, but we will look to enhance the nature conservation and biodiversity benefits of the quarried area.

The existing site at Bankend would be restored a soon as possible after we move into the new site, subject to a little overlap.

The Laigh Plewland site would be restored phase by phase as shown on the plan, leaving a loading area in the centre and a conveyor route.

Following the completion of restoration, the site will be subject to a five-year aftercare scheme under Tarmac’s stewardship.
